CHANGTHANG (NOMADIC HIGH LAND) TREK

RUMTSE TO TSOMORIRI LAKE TREK.

Description : Rumtse to Tsomoriri lake trek is famous for its unique features like high arid plains, Changpa nomads, high pasturelands, snow-capped peaks and the lakes. The starting point of the Trek is Rumtse village (4100m) which is approximately 70 kms from Leh. The route traverses across a number of high passes and areas which has an important wildlife sanctuary, harboring snow leopards and wild asses, as well as various species of birds, such as the black necked crane. The destination of the trek- Tsomoriri Lake is situated in Changthang "the nomadic highland" on eastern part of Ladakh border of Tibet and is one of the largest of the High Altitude Lakes in the Trans-Himalayan bio-geographic region, entirely within India.

OUTLINE ITINERARY

Day 01 : Arrival at Delhi International airport and Delhi sightseeing.

Day 02 : Fly Delhi to Leh at Kushok Bakula Airport.

Day 03 : Half day acclimatization hiking to adjacent villages of Leh market including sightseeing to Shanti Stupa, Samkar Gompa, and 17th century Leh palaces.

Day 04 : Full day Jeep tour Sightseeing to biggest and famous monasteries of Ladakh at Indus valley and drive to Rumtse village. (80 km)

Day 05 : Trek from Rumtse to Kyamar village 4520 (4-5 hrs trek)

Day 06 : Trek from to Kyamar village toTitsaling over Kyamari-La Pass (51800 mtrs) and Mandalchan-La Pass (5170 Mtrs) 6 hrs trek.

Day 07 : Trek from Titsaling to Pangunagu /Tsokar Lake over Shingbuk-La Pass (5230 mtrs) 6 hrs trek

Day 08 : Trek from Pangunagu to Nuruchan village (5 1/2 Hours)

Day 09 : Trek from Nuruchan to Rachungkaru over Horlam-La Pass (4900m) (4 - 5 Hours)

Day 10 : Trek from Rachungkaru to Gyamar over Kyamayuri-La Pass (5430 mtrs) and Kartse-La Pass (5380 mtrs) 6 hrs trek.

Day 11 : Trek from Gyamar to Korzok village over Yarlung Nyau-La pass (5440m).

Day 12 : Rest day Korzok. Hike around lake and visit Korzok monastery.

Day 13 : Korzok to Leh by Jeep (230km- 8-9 hrs)

Day 14 : Free day at Leh.

Day 15 : Fly Leh to Delhi and to your home country.

MARKHA VALLEY TREK/ HEMIS NATIONAL PARK TREK

1. SPITUK TO HEMIS TREK.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 01 : Arrival at Delhi International airport and day sighseeing.

Day 03 : Full day excursion to most famous monasteries of Indus valley, Spituk, Shey, Thiksay and Hemis and Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 05 : Leh to Spituk by Jeep 15 minute drive .Then trek starts from Spituk to Zingchen (4-5 hrs).

Day 06 : Trek from Zingchen to Kandala Base Camp (5-6 hrs trek).

Day 07 : Trek from Kandala Base Camp to Skyu (7-8 hrs trek).

Day 08 : Full day rest and Explore village, people and its culture

Day 09 : Trek from Skyu to Markha (6-7 hrs trek).

Day 10 : Trek from Markha to Thujungtse (6-7 hrs trek)

Day 11 : Trek from Thujungste to Nimaling (3 hrs trek).

Day-12 : Trek from Nimaling to Shang Sumdo across Kongmaru La (7-8 hrs trek).

Day-13 : Trek from Shang Sumdo to Hemis (3-4 hrs trek).Drive to Leh from Hemis village(2-3 hours) Evening free for shopping and walking around Leh Bazaar (market).

Descriptions : A superb way to explore Wild life, remote and mysterious Hemis National Park. This Trek will unveil a region inhabited by typical Ladakhi Villages, Wildlife, high pass, great Floras & Fauna and dramatic mountain scenery. The Stok-La pass offer spectacular views of surrounding mountains and Indus valley.

Day 05 : Alchi to Wanla by Jeep 1 hour drive, enroute visit ancient Lamayuru monastery - one of the largest and oldest Gompa in Ladakh. Trek from Wanla to Hinju village ( 5hrs).

Day 06 : Trek from Hinju village to Sumdha Chay village (6-7 hrs).

Day 07 : Trek from Sumdha Chay to Chilling 6-7 hrs trek.

Day 08 : Chilling to Leh by Jeep 2 hrs drive enroute visit 15th century Phyang monastery.

4. ZINGCHEN TO CHILLING TREK.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 05 : Leh to Zingchen by Jeep 1 hrs drive. Trek from Zingchen to Yurutse village. Overnight halt in a homesaty at Yurutse.

Day 06 : Spotting wildlife at Yurutse village and hiking around village. Overnight halt in a homesaty at Yurutse.

Day 07 : Trek from Yurutse village to Shingo village across Gandala-pass 5-6 hrs trek. Overnight halt in a camp at Shingo.

Day 08 : Trek from Shingo village to Kaya village 3-4 hrs trek. Overnight halt in a camp at Kaya.

Day 09 : Trek from Kya to Chilling village across Zanskar River in Box Shaped trolley. 5-6 hrs trek. Overnight halt in a homesaty at Chilling.

Day 10 : Explore Chilling village- famous for copper work, where inhabitants are the descendents of the migrants, believed to be invited from Nepal during Ladakh king's rule. Overnight in a homestay at Chilling.

Day 11 : Chilling to Leh by Jeep 2 hrs drive, enroute visit 15th century Phyang monastery. Overnight halt at Leh in Hotel.

Day 12 : Fly Leh to Delhi, transfer to Kushok Bakula Airport with assistance from Hotel/guesthouse, followed by an hour flight to Delhi and later on connecting flight to your home country.
